I am from Michigan. I love the phrase "Up North". I love snow. I love brilliant fall colors. My favorite place (besides Grandma's house) is Mackinaw City/Island.
There are ads running on the radio right now promoting Michigan tourism. Every time I hear one come on I ask everyone to be quiet and I turn it up loud. It's always Tim Allen talking. He is from Michigan and has the perfect radio voice. I sigh at the end of each one and look forward to the next time I can go up north. Here's one of several of them. If it doesn't make you nostalgic, you're not from Michigan!
